How Does Holistic Traveler Help?

Most travel content treats travel as the goal. I treat it as the method.

Spiritual traveler

The whole point of Holistic Traveler is to help you use long-term, independent travel to change your life from the inside out.

This website was born from a deeper calling. Not just to explore new countries, but to recognize extended solo travel as a pathway towards self-discovery.

I share what I learned the slow and expensive way, so you can skip a lot of the mistakes I made. If you’re a bit lost in life wondering if there’s an alternative to the grind, you’re in the right place.

To do this, I teach both:

  1. How to actually travel and create this lifestyle for yourself, covering logistics, self-care, and mindset coaching.
  2. How to use this lifestyle as a springboard for personal growth and self-transformation. The soul-searching journey.

The logistics matter, and I cover them in detail. But underneath the visas and the budgets and the gear, what I really care about is the person you become when you stop waiting for permission and go figure life out for yourself.

So, let me get something straight…

This isn’t a blog about taking a vacation. It’s not even really about travel, but more so self-transformation. The intersection between travel and personal development.

Most travel blogs just scratch the surface and don’t show the full picture of what travel really is. They’re all about the best places to visit, the prettiest views, the trendiest cafes, and all the things to do once you’re there.

Looks all nice and shiny on the outside, but there’s no nuance to it. Where’s the raw, ulfiltered travel that most aspiring backpackers want to know about? How do you network in new cities, how do you cope with loneliness or burnout?

Although I do write about some destinations and guides, largely to appease the SEO God, this is a space dedicated to the raw, unfiltered experience of traveling, the kind that molds you as a person.

This is where Holistic Traveler has a unique angle that you won’t see in typical travel blogs.

Rather, I look into the nuts and bolts of traveling, the logistics, and practicality, and run through everything you need to know if you want to become a full-time backpacker yourself.

With that in mind, I want you to have a full experience in life, because it’s ultimately so much more than travel. I want to show you just how possible this lifestyle is, and equipt you with all the best knowledge and advice to make travel a reality.

Who is Holistic Traveler For?

Holistic Traveler is built for people who have the itch to travel, but believe they’re not the right sort of person to do it.

You might be in your late teens or early twenties, watching other people travel and assuming they know something you don’t. You might be in your 30s or 40s and finally ready to do the thing you keep putting off, but by this point it feels like such a distant reality.

Either way, you’re not looking for a luxury holiday. You want something real, something raw, to learn how to do this properly, on your own terms, for the long haul.

If you want curated comfort with no surprises, there are better sites for you, and I mean that kindly. If you want the real version, with the freedom and the friction both on the table, stick around.

Holistic Traveler is geared towards individuals who want the authentic, unfiltered travel experience.

  • Solo Travelers: I focus on solo travel as a means of self-exploration, meaning most of the content is tailored towards people who are on a self-discovery journey, and who are not doing it just for fun, but for their growth.

  • Nomads: See travel not as something you do, but as a lifestyle? Whether you work remotely or job hop abroad to fund your travels, I’ve got you covered!

  • New Travelers: Never traveled before? I’ve got you covered, too, because we all start from somewhere, right? Holistic Traveler gives you all the tools you need to thrive while traveling. Step-by-step guides, good advice,

My Promise to You

I won’t pretend every place is amazing for everyone. I’ll tell you who a destination suits and who’ll probably hate it. Who a particular lifestyle suits, and if it’s actually plausible for you to construt it yourself.

I’m not here to sell false promises, because I know extended solo travel isn’t for everyone. Still, if you have that deep itch, even if you don’t think you’re the right person, I’m confident we can build you into the right person to create this lifestyle for yourself.

I’ll keep talking about the hard parts of this lifestyle, not just the highlight reel, because pretending it’s all easy doesn’t actually help you. And in saying that, I base this knowledge off from my own first-hand experience, and the many conversations I’ve had with other travelers abroad.

Travel changed my life, but it did it slowly and unevenly, with plenty of low points along the way. Ten years in, believe me, I still face my fair share of challenges! Because travel isn’t about having everything cozy and convenient. It’s supposed to push you out of your comfort zone, with constant challenges, but so much beauty, adventure, and freedom too.

I’d rather you go in with clear eyes than chase a fantasy and get blindsided.

Wherever you’re starting from, you can absolutely build a life around this. I’m proof that you don’t need to begin as a confident, well-traveled person. You just need to be willing to throw yourself in the deep end, and go from there.

See you on the road.
